Five minutes with Katie Duckett – Zibrant

As our venue reopens to the public having undergone huge refurbishment, we managed to catch up with Katie Duckett, ‎Business Development Manager at Zibrant, one of our loyal and frequent clients. We wanted to get some insight from someone who’s very familiar with the venue and find out how she felt the changes will benefit future events she is planning.

What is your career history and what does your role at Zibrant entail now?

I work for Zibrant as Business Development Manager for the accommodation service in the events and exhibitions market. I work closely with organisers to provide an enhanced exhibitor, visitor and delegate experience, through our enhanced technology, great customer service and a proactive marketing approach. Before, I was working within the operation team of Haymarket Conference and Exhibitions, organising events for publications such as PR Week, Brand Republic and Marketing Week.

What are you most looking forward to about the QEII refurbishments and rebranding?

I am looking forward to the QEII being brought back to its former glory. It is an iconic building in Westminster and one of the most prestigious event spaces in London. Event spaces are constantly changing to move with the demands of the industry and I think with the refurbishment the QEII will have a new lease of life.

How do you think the changes will positively affect a client and delegate's experience at the QEII?

With its spectacular views over Central London it really is already a fantastic space but with the changes to the foyer, the centre will become much more modern and welcoming. I look forward to the technology enhancements at the registration desks but think everything from that to the café area allowing customers to relax during a busy day will enable the centre to provide absolutely everything organisers, exhibitors and visitors need to make their experiences memorable ones.
