Event management is as much about managing risk as managing the event. The Health and Safety at Work Act is a piece of UK statute law. If you breach it, you are committing a criminal offence.
Being a live event there is no second chance so it is always advisable to have a plan to deal with unforeseen occurrences. Expecting the unexpected can frequently be the best preparation as many event professional will testify. The skill of the organiser is to negotiate the optimum solution in each risk scenario that is the best and the safest for the client and the audience. In this session we will look at creating an event safety plan, risk assessment, delegate profiling, and contingency planning.

Content marketing has fast become part of the vernacular for professional marketers. As the buyer’s journey has changed and a focus on more inbound marketing prevails, savvy marketing professionals have quickly learned that the smart way to attract your audiences is through rich content, delivered via a mix of digital media channels. This session will explore some of the technologies available to event organisers to assist with content marketing and provide some tips on structuring a content marketing programme to promote your event.
