Host to more than 600 national and international events every year, over the past five years the QEII Centre has invested £15m in transforming itself into an inspiring flexible events space.
Industry-leading technology and AV facilities, innovative catering and award-winning customer service have all helped to attract a wider variety of creative events to the centre, from London Fashion Week runway shows and beauty product launches to cutting-edge tech conferences and global human rights summits.
The London Venue Awards were presented on Friday 5 October at the Hurlingham Club.
Chief executive of the QEII Centre Mark Taylor said: “The Most Versatile London Venue Award is the one we really wanted to win – it’s the cumulative effort of everything we’ve worked towards for the past five years. We have successfully repositioned the QEII Centre to be seen as so much more than just a conference venue and have increased our non-core business by 34 per cent. This has contributed to our best financial year to date, turning over £14.23m and creating a net economic contribution to the UK economy of £145million.
“I am incredibly proud of all the team at the QEII Centre for their continued hard work, dedication and enthusiasm, and this award is a fantastic recognition for all that we’ve achieved together.”
