QEIICC and Leith’s Sustainable facts

We are at the Sustainable Events Summit today – so here are some facts about our sustainability:

Water Usage:

Urinals have been fitted with movement control sensors, reducing water use

Taps Hands free taps have been fitted, to reduce water usage

Toilets fitted during 2013 have been reduced from a 9 litre capacity to a 6 litre capacity


QEII Centre has fitted light sensor controls on all lights throughout the venue

In the next 3 years new lights will be fitted with sensor controls



Quality Produce: As much as possible we use English seasonal produce and we are passionate about supporting English producers.

We Know Where our Meat Comes From: We spend a lot of time working with suppliers to enable us to show provenance on our menus. Our Chickens are from Devon, our Pork from Suffolk and our Beef from Gloucestershire

All Made On Site in Real Kitchens: All of our food is made on site and in our kitchens; we continue to develop our offer, so much so that we operate 24 hours a day. This gives our team the time and space they need to deliver truly inspirational dishes

Fairtrade: We only use Fairtrade and Forestry Alliance Tea, Coffee and Sugar

We Promote Sensible Food Miles: We recognise that products within 50 miles of London are few and far between. We champion English products and local suppliers. Where alternatives need to be sourced we use the best of products from around the world, like Tahitian Vanilla!

Waste: all unused food is turned into compost
