The Meetings Show Association Meetings Conference for association event planners is a showpiece educational event including demonstrations at the forefront of catering innovation. Uniquely available to association planners, PCOs and AMCs only, it took place on 7 July 2014 and 100 delegates were present.
Live demonstrations at this year’s event included how to make liquid nitrogen ice-cream. Delegates also enjoyed an inventive and innovative bespoke ‘Best of British’ themed menu by our catering team QEII Taste by Leith’s. At breakfast, guests could visit different stalls including an egg stall, where free ranges egg were poached to order. Also popular were the fresh juice and smoothie stand and the crumpet and waffle station complete with homemade jams, marmalade and lemon curd.
Lunchtime saw us present three bowl food stations with Pimm’s cured Scottish salmon, English pea and radish cassoulet, and Kent plum and Yorkshire rhubarb soup. The piece de resistance was a pick-your-own dessert station of English strawberry and Scottish raspberry fields, with other fresh ingredients including chocolate soil and a spun sugar poly tunnel.
This was repeat business for the centre and we are once again partnering this event for 2015, hosting the Association Meetings Conference on 6 July here at the centre. “It was great working with you and all your team again. The venue and food were really great. We have had lots of positive feedback … a big thank you to everyone.”
