Mark Taylor has been successfully reappointed as chief executive of the QEII Centre to continue building on his myriad of achievements at the helm of this iconic events venue, as we make plans for celebrating our 30th birthday in 2016.
This re-appointment follows re-advertisement of the chief executive role in accordance with Civil Service Recruitment Principles. Taylor was first appointed in April 2013 for a fixed three-year term.
Since joining the Centre in April 2013, Taylor has worked alongside his team to evolve the Centre’s brand and deliver the ambition to become London’s finest specialist events venue, with a diverse portfolio of events and a global reputation as a beacon of British excellence. Within two years, he had led the Centre through three phases of a £12 million capital investment programme to re-establish the centre’s ‘wow factor’, with further works now planned for summer 2016 to continue the rejuvenation of the centre’s spaces and the diversification of its event capabilities.
Speaking of Taylor’s reappointment as chief executive, Jacinda Humphry of DCLG, said, “I am delighted that Mark has been re-appointed as the chief executive of the QEII. Since his arrival in 2013 he has transformed the reputation, appearance and performance of the QEII. I look forward to Mark continuing his strong and successful leadership of the government’s flagship London venue.”
