An organisation which aims to change the lives of 1 billion women and girls will be holding an event at London’s QEII Centre on Thursday 8 March – International Women’s Day.
The ‘It’s a M.A.D (Making a Difference) World’ evening event has been organised by Aspire Trailblazing Women, with founder and CEO of Aspire Dr Sam Collins speaking at the event.
Tickets for the 750-capacity event sold out within a day of registration opening, with a further 600 people requesting to be put on a waiting list.
The QEII Centre is partnering with Aspire for this event in order to support of the word Aspire does to empower women around the world.
Dr Sam Collins said: “The QEII Centre is the largest venue of its kind in central London and this will be our biggest event to date, which helps with our goal to make a difference to the lives of 1 billion women and girls by 2020. The team at the QEII Centre also shares our values of pioneering spirit, collaboration and authenticity – we are deeply grateful and honoured that they have offered their venue for this event.”
Diane Waldon, sales and marketing director at the QEII Centre said: “I attended an Aspire Trailblazing Women event last year and was so impressed by Sam and the work she is doing that I knew it would be a hugely worthwhile initiative for QEII to support. Aspire is addressing the lack of representation of women in business, government and community, and working hard to facilitate expression of talent, potential and diversity around the world – with a talented and diverse team here at QEII, and with a majority of senior management positions occupied by women, this is something we back wholeheartedly.”
