The leading international event for women in the alcoholic beverages industry, The Women of the Vine & Spirits International Summit, will be taking place at London’s QEII Centre later this month.
The one-day summit on 28 June will be the first time the event has been held in the UK. The event aims to increase awareness of gender diversity and inclusion, to further the empowerment and advancement of women within the industry.
Headlining the summit will be Maggie Henriquez, president of LVMH Estates & Wine Division and president and CEO of KRUG Maison de Champagne, along with Jancis Robinson, OBE, MW, wine critic, journalist and wine writer.
Other industry-leading speakers include Karen Betts, chief executive of the Scotch Whisky Association; Jan Jones Blackhurst, EVP of Public Policy & Corporate Responsibility at Caesars Entertainment; Sue Knowles, marketing & admin director at Costco UK and UK chair of Leading Executives Advancing Diversity (LEAD); and Stephanie Macleod, master blender at John Dewer & Sons Ltd.
Deborah Brenner, founder & CEO, of the Vine & Spirits, said: “This event will bring together the top men and women in the industry to talk best practices and align goals for gender diversity and equality. It’s something we have done successfully in the United States, and it is important to extend this dialogue to our colleagues in Europe, so that women across the globe have a collective voice in the alcoholic beverage industry.
“QEII’s central London location and the fact that it has hosted similar events in the past make it the perfect fit for us, and the team there has been extremely helpful in planning the event, especially as we are based in the US. Everyone has been a pleasure to work with from sales to convention services, especially the production and catering teams – they are clearly as focused on the success of this event as we are.”
