QEII Centre website accessibility statement

The accessibility statement applies to the QEII Centre.

At the QEII Centre, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

This page explains our approach to making our website accessible and highlights the steps we put have put in place to make this possible across all devices.

Measures to support accessibility

We want as many people as possible to use our website (www.qeiicentre.london) and have taken a number of steps to ensure this is possible including:

Using a font that is makes it easy to read all text
Keeping sentences short where possible
Having links clearly highlighted in a different colour
Articles titles and text labels have been added to ensure information is more easily accessible
Keyboard access – the whole site can be navigated using the tab and tab shift keys and the space bar. However, on the interactive floorplan, you will need to use the arrow keys and enter to toggle a room selection and press up/down/left/right to navigate intuitively around the chart
All links and forms have discernible text or labels which can be understood by screen readers
Videos contain subtitles or supporting text where possible

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

There are a few aspects of the site which do not fully conform to this standard which are presentational in nature and do not affect the functionality in any way. Our long-term goal is to conform to all elements of the guidelines that are feasible to achieve.

On the brochure page some frames do not have an accessible name.

How we tested the website

The website was last tested for accessibility issues in February 2026 by Applejack using the latest verion of aXe.

Tests were completed using different settings in the Google Chrome browser with multiple dimensions on Mac OSX with a 27 inch screen.

We used manual and automated tests to cover aspects such as:

Keyboard accessibility
Link text having discernible text
Forms having labels and being able to be fully navigable by using a keyboard
Colour contrast for text on various coloured backgrounds
Images having meaningful alt text
Subtitles and / or transcripts for videos
Using assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers
