Bold Events at the QEII Centre
The QEII Centre hosts more than 300 events each year — and no two are ever the same. Our flexible spaces, state-of-the-art facilities and expert support teams are adapted to the unique needs of every event. From catering and AV to branding and layouts, we know that clients want to maximise impact, creating a buzz on the day that resonates long after the doors close.
Our strapline, Dare to be Bold, reflects that ambition. We are here to help clients take their events to the next level — whether through new services such as our Michelin-starred dinner packages, or by pushing creative boundaries with our own ground-breaking “Under the Sea” showcase. We also work closely with organisers to uncover branding opportunities, explore inventive layouts and use design in imaginative ways.
In this blog, we spotlight some of the bold transformations our clients have achieved at the QEII Centre — from turning the Third Floor into a 300-seat fine-dining restaurant for Chef’s Table, to the visually immersive experience created by Beauty Beat, and the full-venue transformation for AI UK.
Chef’s Table
The Fleming, Whittle, and Britten suites on the third floor provided the flexibility and capacity needed to become a 300-seater restaurant for one night only. This unforgettable culinary experience featured 26 esteemed chefs sharing 28 Michelin stars between them. They took the helm at 22 individual cooking stations, creating a dynamic and engaging dining spectacle for guests seated around each station.
Each of the six courses was prepared and served tableside, with dishes meticulously crafted around a specific ingredient — a true showcase of creativity and the diversity of fresh, local and seasonal produce.
Beauty Beat
The Beauty Beat is the UK’s only luxury beauty event dedicated to Women of Colour and Black beauty. For its debut, the QEII Centre was transformed into a “haven for Black beauty,” with significant branding including custom signage, décor, and immersive installations.
Our adaptable facilities provided the perfect blank canvas. The reception and multiple event spaces, including the Churchill, Pickwick and second floor, were reimagined with custom branding, LED light installations, vinyl coverings, and the use of our in-built lighting systems — helping to amplify the atmosphere while keeping costs efficient.
Behind the scenes, the event required careful logistical planning. More than 20 exhibitors delivered products to the venue, including 7,000 lipsticks and hundreds of pallets of goodie bags, ensuring the experience was both visually spectacular and operationally seamless.
AI UK
When The Alan Turing Institute hosted its flagship event, it booked the entire QEII Centre, personalising every corner of the venue. Branded flags and external signage set the tone before guests even entered. Inside, the reception featured screen branding, self-check-in kiosks, a sponsor showreel on the big screen, and bespoke wayfinding — even down to decals on every lift door.
The Churchill Suite was transformed into “The Turing Hub,” a buzzing networking space with catering, a poster exhibition, and flexible seating. Overhead, branded fabric banners hung from the ceiling, while plants and decorative elements softened and enhanced the space.
These are just a few examples of how our clients have dared to be bold, reimagining the QEII Centre to create unforgettable moments and lasting impact. So, when planning your next event, ask yourself — how could you reimagine your experience? At the QEII Centre, we’ll be ready to help you dare to be bold.
