We put the spotlight on our business development team, who have had a busy year reconnecting with colleagues, peers and suppliers in person. The team cover key markets, including the UK, Europe and North America and have absolutely loved being back at domestic and international trade shows, networking events and meetings. Here we provide more detail about their roles, the regions they cover and where you can see them over the next few months.

Meet the Team

Mark Green, UK Business Development Manager predominantly focuses on UK business development. He attends all types of events in the UK from meetings and association events through to the major trade shows. He also maintains a strong presence on LinkedIn, continuing conversations from the events as well as demonstrating what the QEII can offer prospective clients.

Catherine Cook, International Sales Manager – US & Canada is responsible from managing and developing business in North America. The main focus of Catherine’s role is to not only promote the QEII Centre, but also London as a destination for international business, which involves working closely with the London and Partners.

Thomas Mauch, European Business Development Manager,  combines developing contacts, leads and business with European associations and corporate clients with looking at industry where the QEII would like to develop a greater presence such as product launches, esports and technology. Like Catherine, Thomas works closely with London and Partners to promote London and the QEII as a destination of choice for congresses, meetings, and conferences.

What We’ve Learnt in 2022

The team have already attended a number of events from domestic events such as MIA Connect through to international ones such as IMEX Frankfurt and the overriding feeling is that they are back in their element and energised by being able to rekindle old relationships and meet new people at industry events.

The team are all very sociable and their passion for face to face meetings, is seemingly matched throughout the industry. They have been delighted at how well attended events have been and the quality of conversations they have had and how inspiring these have been. The team have had a chance to compare notes, learn from experiences and be in the same room with people who also love what they do!

Trade shows are vital for the success of any business and the team have sensed a change in how people look at them and what they want from them. It’s more about creating an excellent experience for attendees rather than just showcasing products or features.
