Event overview:
Leading London events venue, The QEII Centre, played host to one of the largest sustainability conferences in the UK when it hosted Sustainability LIVE Net Zero earlier this month.
The in-person event attracted 1,320 delegates over two days and featured over 60 internationally acclaimed speakers exploring topics ranging from the sustainability and ESG strategies of some of the world’s largest organisations, to the future of electric vehicles and energy, and the role of AI in the fight against climate change.
Use of space
The event occupied three floors with stages on the ground and second floors and an exhibition and networking area in the middle. BizClik Media, the event organisers, took advantage of the spacious walls in the open-plan Pickwick area to display their branding. The Pickwick also provided the perfect backdrop for photo opportunities and interviews.
James Callen, Managing Director, BizClick Media, said: “The QEII Centre was perfect for our requirements, with a large plenary area, exhibition and breakout areas. We found the QEII Centre’s staff accommodating, professional and efficient, and we have already received positive feedback on the event and venue. The team at The QEII Centre worked tirelessly to ensure that we were happy and that our event was run to a high standard.”
Venue-wide sustainability
The venue worked with the organisers to make sure the event was as sustainable as possible. The QEII Centre was chosen for Sustainability LIVE Net Zero because of its commitment to operating as a socially responsible organisation. Sustainability is embedded into the heart of QEII’s decision-making and operations and is an intrinsic part of every process. Its policies focus on four areas with the biggest environmental impact: waste and recycling, energy and emissions, ecology, and transport.
Committed wholeheartedly to operating as a socially responsible venue, QEII has successfully implemented wide-ranging initiatives which have substantially progressed its pledge to reach carbon neutrality by 2040. These policies are consistently evaluated to ensure they continue to create minimal impact and further enhance the visitor experience.
Sustainability LIVE Net Zero will return to The QEII Centre in March 2025.
