The QEII Centre invited guests to unlock the door to an evening of enchantment at its Secret Garden Party-themed showcase on Monday 24 February.
More than 150 event professionals went on a journey of discovery at the leading events venue in the heart of Central London, arriving to the sounds of string quartet Electric Strings, which provided the perfect backdrop to a drinks reception.
In the Centre’s fifth floor Cambridge Room, attendees sipped fig-infused negronis and yuzu collins’ created by liquid alchemists the Gastronomy Guys and ate canapés, while walking trees act Trees Alive kept them entertained.
Ascending to the sixth floor Mountbatten room, with its panoramic views of the London city skyline, guests entered an enchanting secret roof top garden created with the help of Event Trees. Trees wrapped with twinkling fairy lights and hanging foliage created a magical setting within QEII, highlighting this special place in the centre of the capital.
A welcome speech by QEII chief executive Mark Taylor invited clients to unlock possibilities at the Centre and celebrated its success, before they enjoyed a three-course meal prepared by QEII’s award-winning in-house caterers QEII Taste.
With sustainability placed at the heart of everything at QEII, it was decided to email attendees the menu before arrival to avoid printing menus for the table. Guests were also each given a gift of plantable, biodegradable pencils containing flower and herb seeds to help them continue a journey of sustainability.
A vegetable medley named Secret Garden was served as a starter, with a mouth-watering Beef Wellington for main course. This was followed by a delicate Chocolate and Mandarin Marquis for dessert. As with all events at QEII, care was taken to cater for all special diets – from vegan, to sugar-free.
Guests were quick to give positive feedback on the event.
Claire Anthony, of Amber Marketing said: “We had a lovely evening with delicious cocktails, scrumptious canapés, a wonderful meal and first-class wines. Once again, the QEII Centre showcased its ability to put on a great evening.”
