At The QEII Centre, we are committed to driving measurable sustainability outcomes across all our operations. In 2024, our recycling initiatives delivered a significant environmental benefit, saving 301 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

The Meetings Show has always been a highlight in the events industry calendar, but this year felt particularly energising.

“Sustainability is woven throughout everything we do at QEII Taste. From our first advisory meetings with clients – where we guide them through thoughtful, sustainable choices – to the partners we collaborate with and our ongoing commitment to minimising food waste, we believe that meaningful change comes from the small, consistent actions we take every day.

Creating a new menu takes time, research, innovation, awareness and understanding of the latest food trends as well as the ability to identify the best ingredients for the time of year. We caught up with Danilo Barbagallo, Executive Head Chef at the QEII to get an inside look at the process of curating our latest seasonal menus and how he achieves the balance of flavoursome dishes with sustainability and dietary considerations.

At the QEII Centre, we work in partnership with our clients to take the hassle out of organising events, taking a weight off your mind and allowing you to focus on the content and engagement. With over 13,000 events under our belt since we opened and 11 staff having worked at the QEII for over 20 years we know just what you need to make your event a success.

Apprenticeship are a unique way to learn on the job and develop the skills and confidence to kickstart your career. We speak to two apprentices at the QEII Centre, Robby and Destiny who joined through the Levy UK & Ireland apprenticeship scheme.

As part of their drive to encourage more clients to consider sustainability in their venue selection, Venue Search London have partnered with Green Meetings and Greengage to create a “Green Leaf” accreditation system on their London Venue listings portal.
